Grieving the Old You
During the awakening process or any transformational process, you go through stages of grieving the ‘old self.’ You are aligning with a new level of you/consciousness and within that you have to say goodbye to the old and make room for the new you. This can and will sometimes feel like grief and sadness as you let go of previous levels/versions of yourself as you continue along your path to your truest self at your core. It requires continuous stages of cycling through this and shedding what no longer serves you.
And this grief can pop up no matter where you are at along your souls’ path. There can be grief when you are evolving into new motherhood as you say goodbye to the childless you and hello to motherhood. Or it can be even more intense when you say goodbye to the old you during ego dissolution as you align more with your inner true nature. Grief is a natural part of any growth and transformation. You have to feel all the feelings you need to feel before you are able to embrace what’s to come. And that is totally and 100% OK. To feel sadness, despair, anger and frustration is all part of the letting go process. Grief is there to help us process everything and make way for the next step in our evolution.
Grief is an ending. And with any ending, there always comes a new phase, a new cycle a new level of being. And in that newness, you will shine. You will shine bright like the beacon of light that you are. So grieve. Feel it all. And when there is nothing left to feel, watch as the newness unfolds.
