Sensitive

Sensitive.

What does that mean?

In our modern, patriarchal and masculine driven society right now the word sensitive is commonly interpreted as weak, soft, delicate, careful. We look down on the word sensitive and we deem it less important than other attributes such as strength or power. We see those who are sensitive as emotional or subordinate.

But what I have realized along the awakening path is that being sensitive is a gate to the other realms, it is the connection across the cosmos, it is the opening of the heart, it is the joyful beingness of oneness.

At first, however, when you begin on the awakening path, and you are being called to open your heart, you are being asked to break down the walls, the barriers, the disconnect between yourself and others, between yourself and the suffering in the world, between yourself and the plants and animals that reside here. When you start to feel it all, when you start to become more sensitive, it can be a lot. You feel it all. You open and you feel.

You feel so deeply the animal who was hit by a car lying dead on the side of the road. You feel the earth’s backlash against destroying her seas, and plains and jungles. You feel your neighbor’s grief. You feel the family’s sorrow from being ravaged by war.

When you open your heart, when you let the veil between yourself and others become more and more translucent. You feel it. You become sensitive.

And along the awakening path, sensitivity is a part of the journey. You cannot open to the truth of who we really are without becoming sensitive, without opening your heart, without dropping all that our ego mind’s make up in order to become vulnerable and intimate with it all.

And this can be really hard. There were times during my cycles of awakening when I was completely stripped and barren to my core and I was exposed and raw and vulnerable to the world. My senses became heightened and the sound of traffic felt like a freight train running through my being, and the cacophony of a bustling city would overstimulate every cell in my body. It was an intense side affect of the awakening process. But also part of the journey of opening ourselves to the oneness and connection of us all.

And once you fully open, once you expand to the next level of consciousness, once you align yourself with the pureness of your soul. You realize that your sensitivities are a super power.

A super power that opens you up to the gifts, the realizations, the love, the beauty of our never-ending galactic universe.

You are more open to the whisper of an angel, you are more open to your true intuition and calling, you are more open to the power of source, you are more open to the deep, deep nudges in your heart. The ones that call and say we can make the world a better place. We can shift this paradigm. We can change it all. And not change it from the egotistical framework of masculine dominance, but from the collaborative, loving, light sourced place of infinite joy, infinite possibilities and infinite peace.

I have lived through the tumultuousness of being a highly sensitive person and all that entails in the chaotic-ness of our modern paradigm, but I so clearly see now that it is outweighed as a gift. And a gift that we can all access, that we are all meant to access on our evolutionary path eventually.

Face your fears, open up your heart and feel it all. Awakening requires this. Be vulnerable and be intimate with the universe.

I promise it’s worth it, and it’s not only worth it for you, but it’s worth it for the next evolutionary phase of our beloved planet earth.
