Releasing the 20 Pound Weight
The awakening process strips so much away. It strips away your long-held self-limiting beliefs. It forces you to face your fears so that you can transcend them. It takes away so much of who you thought you were and the person who society expected you to be. It strips you, and shines light in all the nooks and crannies of your being. And just when you think there is nothing left, it finds another little dark nook, and through the process of awareness drives this darkness to the forefront of your conscious for you to deal with whether you like it or not. It forces you to face everything. Literally everything. No stone is unturned, nothing left to hide.
It’s as if you were a snowglobe and all the snow of your life was peacefully settled at the base of the snowglobe. And everything was gunky and messy down there but it was at least at peace. And then one day a huge blizzard comes through and all of that snow, all of that gunk is blasted up and you see that each little snowflake is a fear or a limiting belief or something that is holding you back from being the truest version of yourself. And in this blizzarding and in that blast you start to see them one by one, you observe it all and no snowflake is left at the bottom. And you have to sort through all the snowflakes and this at times can be agonizing and exhausting and physically painful. It can be incredibly challenging and difficult to see so much of what was buried deep within you, where you had been operating from for many, many years brought to the forefront. And awakening will not let the snow settle until you have dealt with it. It at times can be fierce. Because once that storm is riled and once the water of spirit shines through it won’t let you stay out of alignment any longer. It won’t let you go back to the mucky, dense, stuck snowpit. It wants you to thrive and be the empowered conscious creator that you are.
And once you look at it all, and feel it all, and face it all. It releases. The snow turns to wisps and it fades.
And then what are you left with…..
Lightness.
Creativity.
Flow.
And to be totally honest. When you first come upon this. It’s a little strange. You had been operating for so long from a place of misalignment, from a place of exhaustion, from a place drumming along with the cadence of society that you didn’t even realize you were carrying a 20-pound weight. And that 20-pound weight was your place of comfort, even though it was dragging you down. And this new, expansive, light, freeing place is a little weird. And it takes time to get used to. You let go of the weight, and you are like whoa. But you are also now a new baby deer trying to get their legs under them and learn how to operate from this new place.
It’s both freeing, but scary.
And coming from creative consciousness is power and power requires deep respect, love and humility.
Many people would rather carry the 20-pound weight around their entire lives because it’s familiar. It’s known. It’s what they are used to. But if you are willing to face it all, to see it all, to let go of it all, and then be free from that 20-pound weight, your life will blossom. It will blossom more beautifully than you ever could have imagined.
Ultimately, it’s up to you.
